Fan Studies Network NA Call for Videos for Vid/Crit Show

As part of the Fan Studies North America Conference, we invite submission to our fan video “vid/crit” show.. We welcome a variety of forms, including meta fan videos, fan videos that make a self-reflexive argument, and fanvids about fan practices and fan history. We also invite video essays, videographic criticism, or fan videos that explore fandom and fannishness. We’re excited to bring together videos that offer critique and feels, analysis and aesthetics. 

Videos should be no longer than 5 minutes. We will prioritize premieres, but welcome already published or screened videos if they fit within the call. 

Technical specifications: We recommend resolution of 1280×720 or 1920×1080 for widescreen; 960×720 or 1440×1080 for fullscreen, Frame Rate: 23.976 frames per second, Video Codec: H264, 2 mbps or higher, Audio Codec: AAC, 160 kbps or higher, Audio Sampling Rate: 44.1kHz or 48kHz , Container: MP4. The maximum file size of each entry is 1GB. Submissions are due no later than October 1.

  • Link to video (full file download, not youtube)
  • Link to video where/if it already is published online somewhere
